A new perspective to see beyond the illusion.
Every day we are fed with so many perfect images. Pretty images that are not always true are slowly wrecking our own identity and threatening our dreams. We are in desperate need to look at things from another perspective and every angle necessary to really see the truth.
To come back to life.
More often, the true beauty is in those that are different and unusual, those that are authentic. Seeing nature being so imperfect but so beautiful, it is inspiring. All of us with our own peculiarity is truly who we are naturally born to nurture. The way to live deeply and dream freely.
The inspiration came from an artwork displaying a seemingly floating sphere and multiple rings. A beautiful kind of illusion.
The material we chose was mother of pearl and gold. We decided to use the unobtrusive Bauhaus style to influence the designs and to explore uncommon compositions to illustrate originality and imperfection.
The initial study was about experimenting on shapes and compositions that seem unorganized but somewhat aesthetical. We also explored the possibility of creating an illusion of a floating part of the ring.
In the chosen design, we created a larger opening around one of the diamonds to create the illusion of a floating stone.
Furthermore, we determined in detail the shape, size, and composition of the modules so the design meets the initial intention. This is also to make sure the ring was comfortable to be worn and ready for production.
The final look of the ring is intended to intrigue people to take a closer look. The design has an unusual and beautiful composition of modules, and the diamond seems to be floating between the fingers.
“Embrace the glorious mess that you are.”
